Louis C.K. on splitting four ways the $1 million proceeds from the online sale of his Beacon Theater show: Paying for production costs, rewarding his staff with bonuses, keeping $220,000 for himself and his fam and giving the remaining $280,000 to nonprofits (including the awesome charity: water).

Interacting with people who not only believe this sentiment but operate from it daily is the very best part of working in development. I think we lose sight, sometimes, of what an amazingly generous country we live in - and how many individuals, foundations and corporations choose to give back extraordinarily.

I love this quote. What an awesome example of selflessness and a great kick in the pants for all of us as we’re considering our own year end giving.
